Mr Teo removed my brain tumour in August 2019 and I was an inpatient at Southmead for 10 days. He was very sympathetic and accommodating to my many concerns and worries relating to needle phobia and general anxieties. I have made a good recovery from the operation and the scar, in spite of being towards the front of my head, was carefully hidden behind my hairline and is now not noticeable. He also gave me feedback shortly after the operation and he was more than willing to answer any questions. The hospital staff were very professional and caring during my stay.

I first met Mr Teo after a MRI scan showed I had a 4.5cm acoustic neuroma behind my left ear. Mr Teo's expertise and experience in performing this operation before gave me confidence in his ability to perform this procedure. He reassured me that he would get his best team to work with him and due to the size of the tumour and how my symptoms were getting worse, he wanted to go ahead with the surgery in the next 4 weeks. He talked through the risks of the surgery with me and said he would do all he could to remove the tumour successfully. I was prepared for all scenarios but left the appointment feeling that I was in the capable hands of a very skilled and knowledgeable surgeon along with his team. I had the operation on 19/08/19 and it took just over 12 hours. I had a very detailed pre-surgery brief on the day of the surgery and met his team who were very caring. Thanks to Mr Teo's outstanding neurological skills, he managed to remove 99% of the tumour and preserve my facial nerve. Mr Teo phoned my wife straight after the operation to tell her it had gone well and I was very surprised to see Mr Teo the next morning in ICU. I was in hospital for 8 days and Mr Teo and his team were all very happy with how I was recovering. After meeting with Mr Teo again on 24/10/19 the scan results showed that the operation was successful and I wouldn't need another scan for 12 months. I feel very lucky to have had Mr Teo as my surgeon. I can't thank him and his team enough for all that they've done. The scar is very neat and barely visible. My family and I are very grateful to Mr Teo, his dedicated team and Southmead hospital.

My 25 year old son has been diagnosed with two extremely rare conditions which have developed over the last 10 years. Recently he was diagnosed through the Genomes 100000 project with CLM6 disease, a very rare Progressive Myoclonic Epilepsy. He has was also diagnosed with Moyamoya disease and after much research I found that Dr Teo performed Cerebral Artery Bypass Surgery for the condition. From the very first meeting with Dr Teo I knew that Paul was in good hands. After investigations Dr Teo recommended STA-MCA bilateral bypass surgery. Dr Teo fully explained the nature of the surgeries and the risks involved. At no point did he give any false promises. Due to the complex nature of his condition and the distance we were travelling from West Yorkshire Dr Teo ensured that the necessary arrangements were made for his admission and and his full time carer I was made to feel welcome and involved in his care. My son was admitted and spent 6 weeks at Southmead while the 2 operations were carried out. The care he received from Dr Teo, his team and all the staff in every department was exemplary. Although I cannot say there were not some difficult moments there was never a doubt that this was always the right decision to give his the best chance at life and we cannot possibly thank Dr Teo enough for this opportunity. He is a gentleman in every sense of the word!!!!!!

Earlier on this year I was diagnosed with a VESTIBULAR SCHWANNOMA. I went to see Mr. Mario Teo who was very pleasant, listened to what I had to say, gave me options, explained all to me. I decided to have an operation to have the Tumour removed . The operation was a success, all thanks to Mr Teo and his team. The aftercare in Southmead Hospital Bristol was excellent. Mr Teo visited me several times on the ward. I am now recovering well, and can't thank Mario Teo enough !! for what he has done for me and i would have no hesitation in recommending him and his team to anyone. In my opinion there are no constructive suggestions or improvements needed to be made regarding my care.
